Limited Out of Province Coverage

Charges for hospital, physician, ambulance services, radium and radioactive isotope treatments, blood transfusions, blood plasma and blood products, incurred as a result of a medical emergency while travelling outside Ontario. Elective treatment is not covered. Coverage is only provided for trips lasting no more than 15 days. Hospital room accomodation for stays of up to 15 days in a calendar year and medically necessary inpatient and outpatient services. The Plan only covers services and supplies recognized and the portion not covered by OHIP to an overall maximum benefit of $15,000 in a 12 month period. You are strongly urged to obtain travel insurance if you plan to travel outside Canada.

Transportation in a licensed ambulance when medically necessary to and from the nearest hospital able to provide the necessary services.
